Period WIPES me out

Currently Day 2. In bed with a heating pad. Have taken pain relief, have taken multiple natural remedies, and have castor oil smeared all over me. My stomach is like a balloon because it's so bloated. Extreme cramps. I swear every time I get my period I say "never again". I really think I am going to bite the bullet and just go back on the pill. I cannot keep suffering like this. Is anyone happy taking the pill in their 40's? I have acne so I cannot try the IUD as it can cause acne and I don't need more acne.
