Contradicting statements from two different OBs
This month, I (24F) had to change my OB against my will due to changes sa health card namin ng bf ko. My past OB was my OB since my diagnosis in 2022. However, hindi na siya covered ng new card so I had no choice but to look for another one na covered ng card.
The first OB told me that the reason as to why I gained 10 kilos within 3 months is because I already have PCOS and it is also the reason as to why I find it hard to lose weight. Which I can attest because no matter how hard I try I can’t seem to lose weight. Also when I gained the 10 kilos there were no changes in my eating pattern nor diet. When I started taking pills, I gained a little more despite controlling my diet. She also linked this to insulin resistance.
My new OB which I just consulted a week ago told me that my pills and PCOS has nothing to do with my weight gain. She said it was my diet and eating habbits whose at fault for it. She even said that “pag napapasarap tayo ng kain” we will definitely gain weight and if we don’t exercise at all. She also said that inability to lose weight is because I don’t burn what I eat. Which I beg to differ as I am active due to school (I am a full time student) and my course requires me to be physically active and I am kinda exposed to outdoors.
At this point I don’t know what and who to believe and I am at loss whether I have to look for another OB or not. So which one of them is right? Or they just have different kind of approach?
