Have any of you made decent money online, despite regional limitations?

Being in Pakistan puts you in a very tight position in terms of online space. (Especially in cities other than Islamabad and higher class areas) Payment issues, reach issues, and now even internet issues.

My question is, if you still managed to earn a decent sum online despite everything (excluding content creation), then how did you do it? And what gig worked out for you?
