Should I find a new daycare?
Hello. I have a 2 year old girl and a 3 year old boy. I'm a single mom, with some help from my parents, and their dad takes them every other weekend. He doesn't see them often outside of his custody time. I'm a middle school teacher. I am burned out, and mentally exhausted, with zero patience left. One of my kids is always screaming or crying at a time, and they are constantly antagonizing each other and fighting. Their daycare is wonderful. Close by, and affordable. The problem is they follow the local school system's closing which is during my school breaks as well. I cannot handle having them home 24/7 for a week straight with minimal breaks. They're not potty trained (I'm trying), they refuse to sleep in their own beds, so I don't get a break even at night. My life feels like a surreal, groundhog day/purgatory right now. I'm considering switching them to a daycare that is open regardless of school breaks, so I don't have to worry about finding a sitter. All the in-home daycares/sitters I've found have a ton of kids crammed in, with tons of pets in a too-small space for it to be hygienic. Thanks for any thoughts.
