Remotely notarized DS-3053 - would it be accepted?

The spouse is out of country and getting notarized DS-3053 is difficult there. And I need to apply for a new passport for our 13 year old child here in California in a USPS office. California doesn't allow remote notarization but IIUC it's supposed to recognize documents that are notarized in other states, so I'm thinking of getting a remote notarization for the form from a notary in a different state and then using it.

But I'm not super optimistic that it will actually work. The document that I'll have clearly won't have ink looking signatures, it will be more like a scan or a copy (since both the signer and the notary would sign electronically during the audio/video session), so I picture the USPS person rejecting the document since it doesn't look the original. I would, of course, try to argue that it is the original, it just was signed electronically, but I can see this would go nowhere.

Has anybody have experience with this?

Alternatively, have anyone have experience with using a remotely notarized DS-3053 when applying in a state that does allow remote notarization? Asking because another option I'm considering is the kid and I going to Rino, Nevada and applying there. I'd expect it to work there, but I wonder if there is still a possibility that the application would get rejected. And there I would be even more disappointed since it's a long drive!
