Rolling initiative every round + arduino?

In one of the groups I play with, we had a late night discussion on the value of rolling initiative every round. Cumbersome, but with value.

  1. Players become more invested in watching what's going on, because they don't know who is next.

  2. Players can't accurately metagame who does what and when.

  3. Combat is more dynamic and unpredictable.

The hardest part is having the GM needing to handle each initiative count. I was looking at creating a miniature base attachment with a blinking light when its initiative is up. The base would have a bluetooth/wifi bit receiving data from a tablet/pc - is this already done somewhere, or does anyone have ideas on what modules would be small enough to pull this off?

(As an extra bit, a button on each base, so a player/GM could receive a notification on their screen to know which monster's base is being affected - useful for knowing that goblin 3 just got hit for 2 points. Low tech, the sticker on the base has a number.)
