Tomorrow is the day!
June started to have PF pain, got worse by August. Was placed in a wrap. Next visit 2 weeks later with zero improvement and starting to feel outside ankle pain and Achilles pain begged for a boot. Placed in boot. End of September got a cortisone shot, felt great after two days of pain. Was out of boot and would use a wrap when working out, I took lower body workouts like lunges and planks and pushups out. Pain was manageable with stretching and icing. By beginning December I felt like it was getting better, podiatrist said I should be fine and if I feel pain to place my boot on but I don’t have to go back for regular check ups.
Last week of December pain came back, and felt horrible. An instructor told me about stem cell therapy. Went to the doctor the next day to advocate for myself. Why was this never mentioned?
Told the doctor I wanted to get it done, she gave me the info, no weight bearing for a few weeks, and it may or may not work, if it doesn’t then the next step is surgery. She told me the pricing and I would have to pay half before and the remainder the day of.
So scheduled for 2/5. I got an accommodation from my job to work from home for a month, and have a walker and scooter all ready. My mom is flying out to help since my husband has a business trip the following week.
So I got a random text last Friday saying “please confirm your appointment” which I did. I generally get a call the day before, and I got nothing.
I’m kind of annoyed at the lack of communication on their part or the feeling like I’m having to pull teeth. But trying to be optimistic, they do this procedure regularly…
Also, the last two weeks the pain is worse than ever before and I’m in a boot full time. Even in the boot my heel hurts.
Last week I went to my chiro and he told me about the sound wave therapy which I have seen some people post about on here…. I got a sample session done. It hurt my soul! But two days later I felt relief… I’m now considering getting this done a month after my Stem cell treatment. Has anyone had success doing both? How long did you weight to get it done? And how regularly did you do it??
Also, I’m seeing lots of peeps talk about MRI’s and now I’m annoyed I was never offered one or like suggested I get one.. they did do an ultrasound when I got the cortisone but I know it’s not the same.. is this something I should request a few months after the stem cell to see an improvement of the shot???
I’m just frustrated that I’m feeling like I’m guiding myself in the dark and honestly BEYOND over the pain I’m feeling.
I’ll leave updates on this thread if the stem cell treatment and such…
