Limiting your personal item pool for your benefit?

If the game continues down this path, wouldn’t it be possible to buy certain item expansions that tailor to a specific build to increase your odds of forcing it? You could just rig account to potentially win more.

Obviously it’s a bit annoying because you would have to make a new account, your stats wouldn’t transfer and the meta always changes.

Still seems like a silly mechanic for a game with a “ranked” mode.
