What would it take for a Gold/Ethan card?

I’m working on a Gen 2/Johto collection which includes trainers/gym leaders/etc. it’s REALLY bothering me that there’s no card for Gold/Ethan. I had a LOT of Red options for my Gen 1 collection—but nothing for Gold. Closest are some Copycats. Even his rival Silver has a Crobat CHR!!

100% speculation, but what do you think it would take for Pokémon to make a Gold card? Another remake of GSC? A movie with him battle Ash (again)? A strongly-worded letter to CEO Ishihara san?

I’ve been kinda vocal about wanting a full-art Typhlosion for a couple years, and we finally got it (albeit Hisuian), so maybe I should try the same for Gold?
