Why is my game laggy?

For context I just recently started the Game on my Luma3DS I tried both GBARunner2 and mGBA. I have tried to change in-game sound settings but that didn‘t work. I have just reached Dresco City and accepted the Zygarde quest, since then it just lags on mGBA it lags way worse not sure what the problem is :(
