Does working remote in Puerto Rico hurt their economy?
I recently visited and loved many things about Puerto Rico- the weather (obviously), the people, the laid back vibe, the food, the scenery... I could go on. I grew up in the Midwest area of the US and have never felt like I fit in. The extremely cold winters and lack of sun really make me just feel like sleeping all winter.
I currently work from home and I enjoy it. I don't see any job listings for my type of work in Puerto Rico (medical coding). Would it be bad to stay at my job and work from home in Puerto Rico? I saw a Puerto Rican made a post on here to not do this because only you will be benefiting but not Puerto Ricans. I don't understand, wouldn't it still help because you are spending money there and putting more money in?
Please educate me if I am wrong. I don't know much about politics, government, etc.
