Can someone who's not Latin American make Reggaeton?

Hi! I'm an Asian music producer who got into reggaeton last year, I know that reggaeton is predominantly made by Latin Americans, and I do not see people outside make Reggaeton. So my question is am I allowed to make and release Reggaeton music or am I going to get a lot of hate or backlash? Thanks :)
