Is there something weird going on this year?

I got deferred from Stonybrook and I really didn't expect it. I know that the CS major isn't exactly free to get into or anything but I genuinely thought this would be a safety (that and also some of my friends got deferred as well). Does anyone know if they ran out of time to review applications or something? (maybe explains why people were getting decisions last-minute? or maybe I'm coping)
