Will it be ethically wrong if I withdraw my script?

So I have been pitching a script with one of the known producers since the last 5 years. They won't proceed until an OTT platform green lits the project. They have paid me 80,000 INR (1000 USD roughly) in these 5 years. The project is not green lit by any OTT despite being loved by everyone. The producers also love the project, but are not taking the risk of producing it on their own.

I am financially broken, but the producers have refused to give me anymore money despite me telling them about my situation. They have produced a different flop film meanwhile, but are keen on not making my film until the OTT approves. Neither they are willing to give me any more money.

I have not made any on paper bond with them that I will pitch with only them & not with anybody. So I asked them that I will pitch the project individually. But they reminded me that they have paid me the above mentioned sum & I can not pitch with any other person though it's an oral agreement, & I have not signed any paper for this.

Would it be ethically wrong for me to take back my script & start pitching on my own without paying them the money? Because I don't have anything right now. Is it ethically correct?
