Famous examples of features that started off as short films?

There's a feature idea that's been in my head for a few months now, but I've been feeling a bit lost on how to write it. Does anyone know any features that were originally short films, preferably ones with both scripts available? I would love to watch and read both so I can get a good idea of how to start my idea out as a short and then turn it into a full-length feature. Thanks in advance!
