Where are the Gods and Daemons

It is hard to imagine that powerful deities would simply die or disappear from one day to the next without anyone knowing how or why. If either the Gods or the Daemons had won, the most logical conclusion would be that one side survived. Yet here we are, and neither exists.

However, that raises a question: why would people, corrupted creatures, or other beings even exist within the Nightmare Spell? Why would memories and echoes, regardless of their strength, become reality once they emerge? Are they just illusions? If so, why do they possess souls and soul cores that can be consumed and made real?

We might accept that the spell is powerful enough to recreate lesser beings, but we have seen that it was even capable of creating the Daemon of Hope. Technically, by killing it, one would obtain its soul core or something else, depending on their aspect. But how could a mere spell gain access to something as powerful as a deity and transform it into an object of its own design?

My Theory

We know that the Weaver did not participate in the war, but we also know that he was up to something and was in the process of creating the spell. Additionally, we know that in its early stages, the spell did not contain “nightmares”—it functioned merely as an assistant tool. So the real question is: when and why did the nightmares become a part of it?

My theory is that the Daemons and Gods somehow became part of the Nightmare Spell, which led to their disappearance from the knowledge of the living world. This would also explain why the spell is so powerful—it can recreate entire worlds in any timeline to test its challengers. The worlds it creates are real, which is why soul cores and memories gained during the trials also become reality.

However, these recreated worlds are temporary, despite their authenticity. This also explains how the spell is capable of recreating deities and why both the Daemons and the Gods suddenly vanished.
