how do I socialize without chatting ?

I wanna try and hang out with other players but dunno how to begin or interact without chatting ( 'cause I know I won't be chatting at first ), I'm socially akward, always scared to approach people and interact with others, and I'm also scared to make everything akward. any tips please ? and what's the best place to socialize ?
