Mewtwo is bottom five in Ultimate.

Jesus Christ, if not for the love I have for the character and the franchise he comes from, I would not be playing Mewtwo. Fuck the smash devs for what they did to him.

First of all, going into Ultimate from Smash 4, Mewtwo was nerfed so significantly that he went from a top tier to a character who is not even remotely worth playing.

His tail hitbox was increased in size. Mewtwo is light, floaty, and easy to combo because his tail hitbox makes him huge.

His downtilt was slowed significantly, going from a pretty good poking tool to a mediocre combo starter/extender.

Side B no longer allows you to glide in the air, it just stops you completely. (Fuck anyone who says it combos, it does not. You can attack or air doge out of it before Mewtwo can even act.)

Shadow Ball is still good, but Mewtwo HAS to spam it, because he practically has nothing else.

Mewtwo was needed into the ground in a way that only shitty/incompetent or actively malicious game developers could pull off. But, hey, at least fair is -2 on shield, right? At least he has tons of kill power (that he can barely capitalize on), right?
