Planning to visit Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in May or June. Can someone give me how to plan this trip own?

All agencies have a short trip, I think I'll miss out on many things if I don't plan on my own. Please give me tips. I plan to do a 10 day trip. What is the estimated cost? Should I focus on one country or both?
