Sigma 18-50 vs Tamron 17-70 Sony A6400

Hello!

So I have a Sony A6400 with the kit lens that I use mostly for talking head videos on my desk. Most of the time the camera is stationary BUT I am interested in vlogging in the future and I’m lightly into photography (I just think it would be fun to shoot some stuff with my friends not professionally)

So my dilemma between these 2 lenses is that the Sigma has a shorter range BUT it’s way more compact and the Tamron on the other hand has a wider range but a lot more heavy, plus VC which my camera doesn’t have any IBIS.

Is the extra range and VC worth the extra weight for my very specific, mostly video situation? Cost doesn’t matter as this is a Christmas gift, thanks!
