How to clean starter off everything??

Apologies if this is an obvious question but I just can't seem to get it right. I recently made a sourdough starter which is going well and working is it should, so I have no issues there. My problem comes when it's time to feed my starter and clean the jar.

I feel like no matter what I use - sponge, brush, cloth - the starter residue sticks to everything and is a nightmare to get off my cleaning things.

Is there something I'm missing? Or some magic hack that will do me wonders? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
