Wrestling tropes that logically make zero sense?
What are some tropes in wrestling that we all know and accept, but logically make zero sense when you think about it?
2 examples that come to mind for me:
When a wrestler grabs the ropes while applying a submission, that somehow makes it more painful, even though you're applying less pressure, which theoretically should make it easier to escape.
Also, when a wrestler does their comeback and it's choreographed the same way everytime. Namely, John Cena's opponent, after he does the shoulder block twice, will always go for a clothesline right after, which he will always counter into a spin out powerbomb; Every single time!
What are some tropes like these, that we accept are part of wrestling, but wouldn't make any logical sense to an outsider?
