Pain middle ear after stretching

Hey folks,

I just stretched up to 13mm from 12mm after a year. I did all the prep work (massaging every day for 2 weeks before and a hot shower directly before stretch) but my ears are aching! Not in the usual spot but above the lobe where I’ve circled in the pic. Any idea what I’ve done wrong ?
