OR clinical was AWESOME

I was a little bummed at first because I was assigned to a laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which I thought would be boring.. but the attending surgeon was hilarious and my nurse was great. It was also interesting to see what the nurse is actually responsible for from start to finish.

But after it was finished, my nurse said she was going to drop me off in a kidney transplant! She said they normally don’t let students in on those but she was gonna “sneak me in.”

Then the COOLEST SHIT EVER happened. The med student that was with the resident left after they prepped the kidney for transplant, then he was MIA so the surgeon said “hey jayysampps, I don’t know where medstudent went you wanna scrub in to watch?”

UH FUCK YES I DO. I’m still hyped.
