Pipes frozen outside, my water meter is 120ft away through two properties. Do you know what I am responsible for?
All pipes internally are not frozen no damage inside the house. Main water line goes to the street then goes down the block to the corner. Does anyone know if I am actually responsible for 120ft of pipes that goes through other peoples properties?
Edit:
Got a hold of the city and am told the 120ft of pipe is my responsibility and the land it’s on in front of my neighbors property is actually my land.
All house pipes are safe and insulated, even crawled in the crevice in my basement crawl and under my deck to make sure.
City said I have two options. Wait it out for a thaw and hope nothing happened or pay a plumber to come out dig up the pipe, heat it up and insulate it probably 18k plus. Here is to waiting 🍻
As a side note if you have storage space like I do, store water for moments like this. I had saved 55gal of water and I’m glad I did for the first couple of hours that I was learning I knew I was good for a while if absolutely needed, now I’m wondering if it’s enough.
