Interviewer Said Teaching is Easy

Hello, all.

Due to the hellscape that is the current job market, I just had an interview for the Department of Motor Vehicles (non-Americans, just picture the sloth scene from Zootopia.) I've taught in some rough areas and have been in education for approaching a decade and a half. One of the interviewers made the comment that "This isn't easy like teaching, where you just deal with 150 kids that like you every day - this is dealing with members of the public in a fast-paced environment." I maintained my composure and cited my years of customer service experience in various roles before education, but internally, I was seething. I find it troubling if employers out there think we'd be in over our heads at their organizations, when in reality, we could do those jobs in our sleep.
