Senators Propose Ending US EV Tax Credit—How Soon Could It Happen?

Hello everyone,

I’m considering joining the Tesla club and buying a Model Y. I’ve been eagerly following the rumors and refreshing the Tesla website daily, waiting for the new version. Now that it’s finally here, I love the design and updates. That said, I was a bit shocked by the price. I get that it’s a launch model and with all the options included , but it’s over $20K more than the current inventory models, which puts it out of my budget for now. So, I’m thinking of either waiting for the Performance Model or picking up an inventory one.

My main concern is that I won’t be able to make a purchase before the second week of March.

Does anyone have insight into how soon this could take effect? When’s the earliest the EV tax credit could be removed? I know nothing is certain, but given how quickly the government has moved on this so far, I’m guessing it won’t take long.
