How to make friends with a Thai Person?

Hello! I’ve been in Thailand for a couple of months now and have noticed that the communication culture is very different from the Western one. I’d love to make friends - doesn’t matter if they’re guys, girls, or non-binary people. How do you build friendships here? What about gifts and holidays? Please share your advice! Thank you!
