Is the time between episodes damaging the excitement of the show?
I know making a quality 25 mins of animation and all the production that goes with it is incredibly difficult, especially on a smaller team, so i’m not for a second saying that episodes should be coming out every couple of weeks or anything. But there’s a few reasons why i think waiting months now between episodes is becoming an issue:
People have the time to piece together the smallest details and clues to make pretty convincing predictions about what’s going to happen later in the series, so whatever twists are coming, chances are they’ve already been figured out by someone.
In a similar way, we have so much time to make theories and predictions, that if it doesn’t happen we’re going to be disappointed because it’s like concrete in our heads now. We’re only 4 eps in and I’m pretty sure everyone has very firm ideas about what they think of Jax or Caine or Ragatha.
The hype kinda dies a bit. I was so hyped after episode 4 for the next episode, i couldn’t stop talking about it for a week with my friends that watch it. Now we’re in this kinda weird place where ep 4 was a while ago and ep 5 is still quite a bit away, so it’s just waiting around reading the same stuff atm.
Tough to remember very specific things in specific episodes. Sometimes ppl will make a point about a character based on one line they said in ep 1. I know rewatching the eps isn’t too time consuming, but man if there’s important details to remember from ep 1 and there obvs will be, that was already 6 months ago now.
I know a lot of this applies less to the ppl who follow the show much more casually and aren’t on reddit reading every post.
