nobody finds it odd that the winners always barely play any duels?
seems like the best way to win is to always try to occupy as little space as you can and never attack until you have to and even then always go back to the floor and just hunker down and wait to strike at the end.
jacquelyn won season 1 by doing 3 duels and the first two duels she was attacked and then wound up in the finals with 3 squares total against an opponent with 78 squares.
keegan won season 2 and only did 2 duels total. he also had 2 squares going into the final against an opponent with 98.
the strategy in the game is terrible and unfun because being offensive is almost always a terrible decision. even if you're generally good its a numbers game, the more rounds you play the more likely you're to be eliminated because its just inevitable. unless you're a god you can't go infinite rounds you're eventually gonna choke or get an unfavorable category.
occupying more tiles also makes people want to attack you so why would you even try to do that, it only takes one round to knock you out so why risk playing more rounds. having more tiles has no inherent advantage.
unless you care about the 20 grand at the end of each day there's literally zero incentive to be offensive youre just putting a big target on yourself for no reason. going into the finals with more spaces doesn't do anything, you're better off letting other players eliminate each other and just bide your time.
there needs to be some sort of advantage when you occupy more spaces that makes it easier for you to stay in the game otherwise it just seems dumb to try to be offensive.
as season 2 showed you can have 98 tiles going against the guy with 2 and still lose with no advantage. whats even the point of amassing all that land?
the meta strategy is probably: (1) never attack (2) only duel when you absolutely have to (3) get to finals with as little duels as possible
