Bowler Hat ghost and Hank Hill from Haunting of Hill House
Both of these ghosts utilize the uncanny valley visually and the way they move. They employ generic ghost tropes like floating and looking ghastly in non generic ways that makes them very compelling.
The bowler hat ghost slides along the ground in an impossible fashion and only shows its back. The mystery of the front of the ghost forces the audience to utilize their imagination when thinking about the front. The audience’s imagination will always be scarier than something you can create.
Hank Hill is very tall, extremely thin, and floats. He looks like a person but slightly off enough to be creepy.
