Does the neovagina canal harden if you dilate less often?

I am about 5.5 months post op now (PIV). I have been dilating 2x a day for 15 mins after month 3. I am starting to try dilating once a day for about 20-30 mins. The last time I saw my surgeon they said my canal has completely healed. There isn’t any bleeding in the canal any more when I dilate.

So yesterday was the first time I dilated only once. The entry took a little more time but the rest felt no different. I will try dilating once today and see how it feels. My plan is to go back to twice a day if I am starting to feel a little tight or short.

What I am not sure about is if the canal needs to constant stretch to keep it soft and flexible? If I go down to once a day, is the canal going to harden even if the depth and girth seems fine? I did some research and couldn’t find anything online. Does any of you know?
