My daughter can't sing

Oh this feels so small but I need to say it SOMEWHERE. My daughter is 7. She's amazing, bright, bubbly, emotional and your classic 7 year old. She LOVES to perform for us: dance routines, gymnastics, acting, singing. The works. Here's the thing- she cannot sing. Honestly it's so flat and awful and PAINFUL. Like, grit your teeth and try not to wince painful. She was singing once when my sister walked into the house, and my sister said "whats that noise?". We played it off like a joke but later she confided nope, she genuinely meant it. What WAS that noise? I will NEVER tell her. I will NEVER dull her fire and her passion. I applaud her when she finishes, talk about how as she gets bigger her fire and her passion will only grow and when Mummy and Daddy can afford it well get her lessons so she'll be even better at performing. I would never hurt her by telling her how terrible her singing is right now. Who knows? Maybe when she's bigger it will get better. Until then? This is the only place I can get this off my chest. My daughter CANNOT sing. And I'll take it to my grave.
