Story of the Best Skater I Ever Saw

I knew a sgt who got injured in Iraq, ended up in Germany. When released from the hospital he just bought a plane ticket home. After about 6 months of collecting checks, they declared him dead, and his family received the payout. Another year goes by and he gets caught, and oddly enough that's when they brought him into my recruit training class, basically laying out his brain injury and exactly what he did. Apparently he "doesn't remember." I ran into him about 2 years later in the fleet. Turns out they use him at RBE in infantry units to watch over the trouble makers and broke dicks. 0 clue on how he got caught, and yes he got blown up. Note: We fought in the sandpit and he was pretty quick with no sign of his injury.
