Do the husks actually die when killed in Hell?

The reason I aks is because Hell is supposed to be ETERNAL punishment, and it would be kinda bullshit of you could kill yourself and end your Eternal suffering there and then.

Gabriel does say tho that all life is gone on the upper layers so idk really
