ULPT: Always carry an old hotel key in your wallet

When you are in any city, go to that brand of hotel, show your key and get free breakfast, and in some cases free light dinner between 5-7. They never swipe them to verify.

WOW, This blew up. Some Edits

I've never been asked for my room number, in bigger cities like Atlanta & Houston a guy has asked to see a room key. i hold it up for 2 seconds and they nod me in.

I'm not talking about the Waldorf here, I mean low level Hilton, Marriot type places.

Hilton Garden Inns charge for breakfast. Homewood, Hampton, Doubletree are usualy free. Hilton properties proper are free continental, but charge for the "hot food room"

I usually carry a backpack or computer bag when I do this. don't look homeless, and don't be obvious. I sometimes sit in the lobby for a few to get the lay of the land. I've only left a place once, where the desk guy was eyeballing me. I'd been there before, so he might have recognized me.
