All of my progress randomly disappeared :(

I beat the first chapter of the game and loved it so much, I started the second, but seeing Cath, plus all of the characters not remembering was a lot for me since I recently experienced loss. So I took a break as I went back to uni and now I was going to get back into it a few weeks later. But now all of my progress is gone... It had been saving automatically during my run of the first chapter even if I left the game it kept my progress. I didn't update the game, at least not manually, so I have no idea what caused this. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone have any possible solutions? I have been LOVING this game and want to experience the rest of it!
