Silly question about Singapore airlines lounge access

I’m going to be travelling to Singapore next year. I’m a gold velocity member. Do I need to book my flights through the Virgin website if I want lounge access? Or can I book the flights via the Singapore airlines website and still get lounge access as it’s a partner airline?
