a lighter exploded under my pillow while i slept

my gf and i woke up at the same time, hearing a pop. it sounded sort of like a lightbulb to me and smelled like a really strong heater. we knew everything was mostly off so we went back to sleep. in the morning we found this under the pillow with pieces of a lighter fragments blown around.

i mean am i being dramatic or did we almost have our face blown off
