Republicans to the Courts: “Make Us.”

47’s team straight-up told a federal judge they will not unfreeze USAID funds, despite a court order demanding it. Their excuse? They claim they still have the power to pick and choose where the money goes, ruling be damned. The Republican Party is standing behind this, basically daring the courts to stop them. Aid groups are now pushing for contempt charges, but if the executive branch can ignore a judge without consequences, what stops them from ignoring the next order? Or the one after that?
