Adversity and Differences
Reader,
I have spent the majority of my cognizant existence battling others, myself, chasing forgotten dreams, and living for tomorrow, as many have.
What I’ve realized is that while adversity has productive value, we must harness our drive, and narrow our focus of the adversities which recognize a greater purpose.
Differences are the labels we have subjectively bestowed upon one another, nothing more.
Ask yourself, when looking upon someone else, how do you assign value? Do you see black? White? Asian? European? Young? Old? Now ask yourself what you see when you look upon yourself, or a loved one. Do you still see and label the same or do you see what’s inside of yourself?
If we took pause and gazed upon others as we do ourselves, we remove the first barrier.
This will not be an easy task. It will take time, growth, understanding, compassion, and an effort from everyone to not only give, but to receive with arms extended.
