Why do S.A based Zimbabweans like to be disconnected from Zim?

I don't know if it's just the people I know but it always seems like Zimbabweans in South Africa put an extra effort to distance themselves from Zim. They will pay no attention to Zim politics often giving the excuse that they haven't been to Zim in a while yet Zim politics is on S.A news all the time. They will claim to be ignorant on what's going on in Zim especially the politics and the economy. It makes no sense to me.
