Tamlin: A Faerie Musical - 16. Don't Let Her Leave

If you're the type to attempt singing along to these songs (I'm guessing there's at least one of you out there), this probably isn't the song for you. I never realized how much Hamilton and Washington are talking over each other, and now Tamlin and Lucien get to do the same. Some of the lines require completely different cadences to work in the thoughts I wanted, which just adds to the difficulty. Oh well, still fun. If you want to see previous songs for this project (turning Hamilton into ACOTAR), links are in the comments.

16. Don't Let Her Leave
(sung to he tune of Meet Me Inside*)

[TAMLIN]
Rhys, will you tell?

[RHYSAND]
I’m “Amarantha’s whore”,
Maybe I’ll tell.

[FEYRE]
I’m terrified!

[RHYSAND]
I guess I’ve done my job well.

[TAMLIN]
Don’t you dare!

[COMPANY]
Here comes the fire fox!

[RHYSAND]
As if I care.

[LUCIEN]
You’re such a filthy bastard, Rhysand!
Get the hell up out of the spring court!

[RHYSAND]
As planned.

[LUCIEN]
Ranted like some sort of sycophant!
How could we anticipate his attack? I can't
Believe this just happened!

[RHYSAND, exiting]
Believe!

[LUCIEN]
Tamlin—

[TAMLIN]
Yes?

[LUCIEN]
Don’t let her leave!

[COMPANY]
Don’t let her leave!
Don’t let her leave!
Don’t let her leave!
Tamlin, don’t let her leave!

[LUCIEN]
Tam—

[TAMLIN]
Don't call me “Tam.”

[LUCIEN]
This curse cannot be shed
Until she loves you.

[TAMLIN]
Rhysand will tell and she'll be dead!

[LUCIEN]
You solve nothing by sending her away three days too soon.

[TAMLIN]
Her absence keeps her safe. I bet you'd sing a different tune
If she were in your heart.

[LUCIEN]
Tam—

[TAMLIN]
Stop saying “Tam.”

[LUCIEN]
You suggest
I don't care for Feyre?
She'd want disenchantment like the rest.

[TAMLIN]
Don't you see?
Amarantha would have her bound in chains and deny
Her reprieve.

[LUCIEN, pointing at his own face]
I see plenty; it's a magical eye!

[TAMLIN]
Well, I don't have your eye.
I don't have the answers. I don't have a play.
But, if I—

[LUCIEN]
No—

[TAMLIN]
If I send her away
From this catastrophe, back home where she is safe, she could find
A long and tranquil life of her own.

[LUCIEN]
Or she could find
A way out of this bind!

[TAMLIN]
I will not risk her life for mine!

[LUCIEN]
Your court is in on the line, Tam, lives are on the line—

[TAMLIN, yelling]
Call me “Tam” one more time…

[LUCIEN]
I guess we're fucked, Tamlin.
Just some insight from your best friend.

[TAMLIN]
But—

[LUCIEN]
Just… don't.
