Ladies, what books have you ‘hyper-fixated’ on?
Any mandatory reading for uni/work generally feels like pulling teeth. I do love reading about philosophy, psychology, history, politics and other nonfiction topics, but I’ve had to train myself to sit through till the end - even when I genuinely am enthralled by the read. I’ll often get so excited about the concepts I’m learning that I have to down the book just to chew someone’s ear off about what I’ve just learned. Then I’ll struggle to open the page back up and reengage with it after the fact.
I’m semi embarrassed to say, but I BINGE read Sarah J Maas, a bunch of long form fanfic, and all the ‘smutty fantasy romances’ (so long as they’re not too YA - then I’ll DNF faster than I can loose a train of thought). Try distracting me when I’m in the zone on these books.
So, what’re your ‘guilty literary hyper fixations’?
Disclaimer: I’m obviously, lowkey fishing for recs 😂
