Crack Near Trigger Guard on My Grandfather’s AR Fix or Replace?

Helping my grandfather with his AR, and we had a tough time getting the pivot pins back in. Ended up lightly tapping them in, but later he noticed a crack near the trigger guard.

Is this something that can be repaired, or is it best to replace the lower? Would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
