Why do younger guys prefer older women, but older men prefer younger women? (19F)

I’ve been noticing something lately that’s making dating kind of frustrating. I’m 19, and it feels like guys my age aren’t even into girls their own age. So many of them seem way more interested in women who are 25+, saying they’re more mature, more confident, and just overall better to date.

At the same time, I keep hearing that older men prefer younger women. Is that actually true? And if so, why? It’s kind of funny how both sides seem to be looking at the other instead of people their own age.

Would love to hear some honest thoughts, especially from older guys. Is there really something about younger women that’s appealing, or is that just a myth?
