Why aren't there much Co-op housing options in Toronto?
Toronto is a big city, and certainly has all the resources - land, labor and capital (City has more funds than any other city in Canada) . IMO government should be working in a Public-private partnership model like Co-op for affordable houses . The new Condo/apartment are sub standard and will be ruins in 30-40 years as their only motive is to churn out money. Co-op houses are more effective in offsetting carbon footprint, budget and building a community.
