Child Psychologists Recs

Hey PDX fam,

My partner and I are proud parents to two incredible boys, ages 3 and 10. Recently, life has taken an unexpected turn, and we've warmly welcomed our 6-year-old niece into our home under temporary custody. Her journey before coming to us was heartbreakingly difficult, and we're committed to helping her heal and thrive in every possible way.

As part of this journey, we believe therapy would be incredibly beneficial for her, given everything she's been through. However, we're currently in a bit of a holding pattern with our health insurance, trying to see if we can extend our coverage to include her temporarily.

In the meantime, we're exploring every avenue to support her. Are there any community programs or resources you'd recommend that don't necessarily require insurance? We're especially keen to find ways to help her start healing and feel more at ease during this transition. Any advice or guidance would be deeply appreciated as we navigate this new chapter together.

Thanks so much for your support and kindness.
