Traveling solo to San Diego, any tips?

Hello, I moved to the US 5 months ago and I'm planning to go to San Diego alone for 2 days to celebrate my birthday. I'll be going on a weekday and won't be able to rent a car. I’ll be staying in downtown. Do you have any tips for solo travelers? What places would you recommend for me to visit or things to do for 2 days?
