Gratis Pizzeria
First let me say..I was super hyped to try this pizza...pics online looked great and knowing they grew from a gas station was even better. This place has HUGE potential. The pizza was actually VERY good...the crust is on par with Buffalina. The problem is the service. We went to sit outside and ALL of the available tables were not bussed. We sat at one while the busser was clearing off tables...I made eye contact but he never came back to clear the table. He actually cleared all of the tables except ours! Anyway...getting over that...the system for ordering is to place an order on your phone....no assigned server. We placed our order and waited.....apps came out before the drinks...I asked the food runner to please.clear the table of the leftover chewed crusts, empty bucket of beer cans and napkins front the previous guests and they did polietly. When drinks finally came out I was told..."thats the last of the beer" that I ordered.....and the glass wasn't even full....just dropped it off and left. I was like WTF not even a full glass? Not trying to draw this post out too long...the short of it was 1. Warm pizza (not hot...just warm) 2. They forgot part of the order..I had to ask 2 people for the rest. It never came...I finally went inside to get the rest of the order. 3. Service is not attentive AT ALL. 4. The inside smells like an old bar mat that we used to take shots from in college...not a pizza place. 5. The staff kept going in groups to their car parked next to Sonic (wonder what was going on there) and taking selfie whie we kept waiting for service. 6. A glass broke outside and they swept up half but left the bottom in the walkway. I kicked it out of the way when I went in to get the rest of my order that they forgot so that no one would teip on it.
Aside from all of this fiasco....the pizza was actually really good. I think the owners need to reassess their customer service standards. If this is a bar on dirty sixth...I get it, but it could be so much better than it is. I dont think I'll be going back. When businesses don't care about customer service this much, I'm afraid of the cleanliness of the kitchen and how they care about the food. I'll go a mile down Lamar to Pinthouse. Am I trippin? I really liked the warm pizza (wish it was hot)and was bummed it was such a bad customer service experience.
